Overview
In response to extremist settler violence, President Biden established a West Bank sanctions regime under E.O. 14115, which authorised travel bans and asset freezes on (inter alia) foreign persons determined to be responsible for policies that threaten the peace, security, or stability of the West Bank or involved in acts of violence targeting civilians in the West Bank. In January 2025, President Trump revoked the executive order establishing the regime. OFAC has since removed the West Bank-Related Sanctions programme from its website and removed all those designated under it. All property and interests in property blocked under E.O. 14115 are unblocked.
The EU and UK do not have West Bank-specific regimes but have designated Israeli settlers on their global human rights sanctions regimes. Canada has also designated, and New Zealand has imposed travel bans on Israeli settlers.
See Hamas & PIJ regime page for sanctions on Hamas & PIJ.
