Switzerland has updated the forms used to report and seek authorisation for money transfers involving Iran. The Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research (EAER) published the revised forms on 13 October 2026 – Press Release.

The forms apply to transfers under Article 21 of Switzerland’s Iran Ordinance (see our Switzerland pages for Swiss sanctions legislation). From 13 October 2026 only the updated forms will be accepted.

Article 21 sets two thresholds for money transfers to or from Iranian persons and entities:

  • Under Article 21(1), transfers above CHF 10,000 must be notified using the notification form.
  • Under Article 21(2), transfers above CHF 50,000 require authorisation, applied for using the authorisation form.

The filer can be the financial intermediary of the originator, the financial intermediary of the beneficiary, or the originator or payee where the financial intermediary is outside Switzerland. Completed forms go to SECO at [email protected] in Excel format, with supporting documents attached.
