US adds investment bank Golden Global and its subsidiaries to Iran sanctions list and issues General License authorising wind down transactions

Azlan Stock/Shutterstock.comThe US has added Turkey-based investment bank Golden Global Yatirim Bankasi Anonim Sirketi and 2 of its subsidiaries to its Iran sanctions list under EO 13902, targeting certain sectors of the Iranian economy – Press Release. Golden Global is said to have facilitated transactions for the US-sanctioned Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF) and for having provided the Iranian regime with correspondent banking access to move funds internationally. Its subsidiaries Golden Global Varlik Kiralama Anonim Sirketi and Golden Global Portfoy Yonetimi Anonim Sirketi are sanctioned for being owned or controlled by Golden Global.
The US has also issued General License CC, authorising transactions that are incident and necessary to wind down transactions involving these newly sanctioned entities, or any entity in which they own 50% or more interest, by 19 September 2026.
