Russian national convicted in US for aircraft export control breaches

Jim Lambert/Shutterstock.comA Russian national in Florida has been convicted following trial of breaching US export controls by exporting aircraft parts to Russian state-owned airlines PJSC Aeroflot.
Alexander Mamonov, who is a former Aeroflot employee, was convicted of 12 counts related to a scheme which involved conspiracy to smuggle over $900,000 in aircraft parts to Russia without a licence, in breach of the US Export Control Reform Act. He misled US suppliers by saying the exports were being sent to the UAE and China. More information on US export controls can be found on our US pages.
