The Resolution 1533 (2004) UN Security Council Sanctions Committee has added 6 people and 2 entities to its DRC sanctions list. Those designated are:

  • Alliance Fleuve Congo (a.k.a. the Congo River Alliance) and its leader Nangaa Yobeluo Corneille. The Alliance acts on behalf of the UN-sanctioned M23 movement.
  • Twirwaneho, a paramilitary group that is part of the Congo River Alliance. Its military leader, Charles Sematama, is also designated.
  • Sebastien Uwimbabazi, leader of the FDLR; Muhammed Lumisa, a commander and head of external logistics of the ADF; Gustave Kubwayo, a commander of FDLR-FOCA and the CRAP special forces unit; and John Imani Nzenze, M23's intelligence chief.
