Airbus pays HMRC compound settlement for breaches of the Export Control Order 2008

hyotographics/Shutterstock.comHMRC has issued a notice saying that it concluded a £6.4 million compound settlement with Airbus Operations Ltd for offences under Article 38(1) of the Export Control Order 2008. Over a sustained period before 2008, the company:
- Failed to keep accurate records of transfers of controlled technology as was required by their Open General Export Licences (OGELs);
- Failed to keep registers and accurate records per the OGELs’ requirements;
- Breached an unnamed Standard Individual Export Licence.
