Switzerland has extended country-specific exemptions under its export control legislation on trade in miliary equipment to include all EU and EFTA states. The exemptions will come into effect on 1 July 2026.

EU and EFTA countries have been added to:

  • Annex 2 of the War Material Ordinance, which removes the need for licences for the brokerage or trade in war material, for the transfer of IP relating to war material, and for select non-re-export declarations, and allows general transit licences.
  • Annex 7 of the Goods Control Ordinance, under which an ordinary general export licence may be issued for the export of nuclear goods, dual-use goods, military goods, and nationally controlled goods.
  • Annex 34 of the Ukraine Ordinance, under which goods intended for incorporation may be delivered.
