The EU has updated its statement of reasons for listing Michael Makuei Leuth under Regulation (EU) 2015/735, the EU’s South Sudan sanctions list. Mr Leuth was South Sudan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting since 2013. He was EU-sanctioned in 2018 for obstructing the political process in South Sudan. His listing has now been updated to record that he is now South Sudan’s Minister of Justice. He is the only person subject to a travel ban sanction under Article 3(1)(b) of Regulation 2015/735.
