The US has removed Nikita Gennadievitch Kovalevskij, Boris Aleksandrovich Gaykovich and 4 companies linked to Mr Kovalevskij from its cyber sanctions list (EO 13694).

Mr Kovalevskij and Mr Gaykovich were US-designated in 2020 for being part of a sanctions evasion network. Mr Kovalevskij was listed for owning Optima Freight OY, a Finnish freight forwarder that the US said facilitated the shipment of US-controlled diving equipment to Divetechnoservices, a designated Russian company. Mr Gaykovich was listed for being the deputy director of Okeanos, an underwater technology company that provided equipment for use in Crimea and in support of the FSB. Optima Freight and Okeanos remain subject to sanctions.

See our US-cyber pages for more information on the cyber sanctions regime.
