Canada has amended the United Nations Resolutions on Iran Regulations to implement UN snapback sanctions on Iran. UN sanctions were reinstated earlier this week under UN Security Council Resolution 2231 (2015). Canada has now amended the Iran Regulations to:

  • Remove references to the JCPoA and Security Council Resolution 2231;
  • Add items stipulated by the UN Security Council to the list of controlled items;
  • Prohibit the provision of goods, materials or services to ships connected to Iran.
