The EU has said it will renew its ISIL and Al-Qaida sanctions regime under Regulation (EU) 2016/1686 until 31 October 2026. This regime is in addition to the UN terrorism sanctions list, first established under Resolution 1267. The EU’s autonomous ISIL/Al-Aqida sanctions regime was established in 2016. It targets people and entities said to be part of or support ISIL and Al-Qaida. There are currently 15 people and 7 entities on this list. They are subject to asset freezing measures and EU travel bans. See our EU terrorism pages for more information.
